Tankless Hydronic Heater – Get Your Hot Water Faster With A On Demand Hydronic Heater

Do you know that the average family in North America wastes between 10,000 to 16,000 gallons of water every year just waiting for the hot water to reach acceptable temperatures? Seems unbelievable, doesn’t it that such a simple little thing could be costing you and your family so much money in water, sewage and heating bills.

But imagine how great it would be if you could turn on the faucet and have almost “instant” hot water? This is what a tankless hydronic heater can do for you. No more waiting for the hot water to travel from the basement tank to your upper floors.

No more lukewarm bath water if someone forgot and washed clothes and ran the dishwasher to before you hopped in the shower. Or save a ton in energy costs since you only heat the water you use, not waste BTUs or kilowatts keeping water hot needlessly all day long.

The Tankless Hydronic Heater Process

A tankless hydronic system heats water in fairly simple process. Someone turns on a hot water tap somewhere in the system. Water flows into the hydronic heater. A flow sensor detects the water entering the heater. A PLC or tiny computer automatically ignites the burner where the flame is distributed along the entire length of the heat exchanger unit.

Tankless heaters commonly have electric or natural or propane gas heat sources. A typical heat exchanger uses water-filled tubes in the heat exchanger unit as the means for thermal transfer. The water tubes’ special fin design and copper construction allow for maximum heat transfer. The water is circulated through the heat exchanger, heating up to the desired temperature as it moves inside the unit.

Then the hot water is send though a specifically crafted heat piping layout that carries it rapidly to the hot water taps without losing any significant heat. When the tap is turned off, the unit shuts down. The result is an on demand hot water system that only works when you need it.

While the tankless hydronic heater is most frequently used to replace domestic hot water supplied for cooking, cleaning clothes or for bathing, you can easily add this type water heating system to your home for specific uses.

Tankless hydronic heaters are great for use in in-floor heating units. These are units where a special heat piping layout is placed under a thermal mass floor (often stone or tile) to warm up bathrooms, kitchens and other living spaces. A tankless water heater can also be used in various outdoor heater applications such as swimming pools, spas, workshops, garages or enclosed sunrooms or patios.

3 Benefits of a Tankless Hydronic Heater

-As mentioned before this type of water heater is more efficient since it only heats up water as you need it. Unlike ordinary water heaters which waste your hard earned money to keep 40 to 80 gallons of water at a constant temperature year round whether you use it or not.

-This system allows your family to heat water almost directly from the city water line without waiting for a tank to refill and be reheated. So you practically have endless hot water.

-Tankless heater are much more compact than traditional water heaters, so you can install them virtually anywhere; a garage, a cabin in woods or a cottage by the lake. If you have wall then you can have a tankless hydronic heater installed.
